Our Story
Bridge to Music began with a simple belief: that the gift of music should be accessible to everyone. Whether it be listening or playing, music is a universal language with a power that transcends age, language, region, and other differences and barriers.
The organization was founded in 2020 by three siblings—Yuna, Daniel, and Justin Kang—whose musical journeys were profoundly shaped by their piano teacher and lifelong mentor, Ms. Snezana Krstić of Arizona Piano Institute.
Under Ms. Krstić’s guidance, the three learned not only the art of music but also the values of compassion, gratitude, and service. Her contagious passion and generosity inspired the Kang siblings to carry those same values into their own musical and personal lives.
Their journey, however, was not built by one person’s inspiration alone. The Kang siblings are grateful for countless individuals and communities who helped them along the way. From family to friends to local communities, every offer of support, opportunity, and community has been invaluable and served as the building blocks of resources and inspiration for them to grow as musicians, students, and individuals. The siblings know their musical paths would not have been possible without this compassion from others.
Supported by mentors like Ms. Krstić and programs like Rosie’s House, a music academy for children, the Kang siblings experienced firsthand how music can uplift and connect people.
During the isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic, they decided to start giving back by performing virtual concerts to bring comfort and collecting secondhand instruments for children in need.
From these first acts of service, Bridge to Music was born.
The heart of our mission remains unchanged: to share music, uplift others, and pass forward the kindness that once lifted us.
As Bridge to Music continues to grow, we carry with us the lessons of our teachers, the generosity of our community, and the hope that every young musician will feel supported, inspired, and encouraged, just as we were.
