B2M was delighted to showcase eight wonderful performers for the first of its two senior‑resident concerts, with the first location being at Olive Grove on the 16th of October.
The evening’s centerpiece was Sean Wagner’s wonderfully vivid and commanding performance of the first movement of Beethoven’s Waldstein Sonata—a reading marked by shimmering clarity, propulsive energy, and an architectural sweep that held the audience rapt from the opening cascade to the final triumphant flourish. The program continued with a delightfully contrasting selection of chamber and solo works. Jeremias Ng’s interpretation of the first movement of Mozart’s Sonata in C major, KV 331 stood out for its playfulness and effortless charm, capturing the composer’s wit through buoyant phrasing, crisp articulation, and a truly joyful spontaneity.
