Frequently Asked Questions
-
Most of our volunteers are high school students, but anyone ages 13 through college—even graduate students—who is currently a student and loves serving the community through music and art is welcome to join us! Volunteers younger than 13 may join our events by invitation.
-
Our volunteers can:
Perform by playing instruments or singing at our concerts for senior living communities and other outreach events.
Create crafts to share with the communities we serve.
Helping out behind the scenes at our events such as taking and editing pictures and videos, setting up the stage and equipment, and other logistical matters.
Support causes by helping collect and repair gently used instruments for our donation drives.
-
Not at all! While most of our volunteers are musicians, we welcome any student who wants to contribute creatively or help behind the scenes to support our mission in different ways.
-
We look for volunteers who are kind, inclusive, and community-centered team players—those who care about others and find joy in serving together.
-
Bridge to Music hosts between 12–15 events per year, and volunteers can sign-up to participate for as many or as few as their schedule and interests allow.
-
There is no specific time commitment for individual volunteers—you can volunteer as much as your schedule allows. However, if you are participating in a concert series, we ask that you stay for the entire duration of that concert to support your fellow musicians and help with the event. A typical concert call time is about 30 minutes before the performance, and concerts usually run for approximately one hour.
